2005 World Winter Games

Special Olympics Indiana proudly sent five Athletes, two Volunteer Coaches, a Staff member, an Athlete Official, an Athlete Mentor, and an Indiana Law Enforcement Torch Run Officer to represent the United States at the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. Events took place February 26 - March 5, 2005, at seven sports venues previously used for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games.

More than 2,500 Special Olympics athletes, 650 coaches, and thousands of families, volunteers, spectators and journalists from every continent attended the 2005 Special Olympics World Games in Nagano — the first Special Olympics World Games to be held in Asia. Athletes of all ability levels competed in Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, figure skating, floor hockey, snowboarding and speed skating.

All team members attended the Team USA camp in Colorado from December 1-5, 2004. Congratulations to each of these individuals for their hard work and achievement!
