The John R. Wooden Tradition annually celebrates the lifelong contributions to the game of basketball by Indiana native, legendary coach and Hall of Famer John R. Wooden while raising money for more nearly 10,000 Special Olympics athletes in Indiana.
In 2009, Special Olympics Indiana is the proud beneficiary of the 10th annual John R. Wooden Tradition Golf Tournament presented by American Family Insurance and the John R. Wooden Tradition Coaches' Luncheon presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana. Both events are held in conjunction with the annual John R. Wooden Tradition Basketball Invitational in Indianapolis.
EVENTS OF THE JOHN R. WOODEN TRADITION
The 2009 John R. Wooden Tradition Golf Tournament presented by American Family Insurance will be held Monday, September 21, 2009. Tee off on one of Indiana's premier courses and enjoy an afternoon of networking and great prizes while supporting Special Olympics Indiana. In addition, Prairie View's head PGA Professional, Darren Thomas, will host a clinic to help perfect your golfing skills, contact Jen Whaley, Community Development Manager.
The 2009 John Wooden Tradition Coaches' Luncheon presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana will be held Friday, December 18, 2009. Enjoy a company holiday event featuring remarks from Purdue Head Basketball Coach Matt Painter. Top package purchasers will also receive the VIP treatment, including a chance to meet players from the Purdue basketball team. The 2009 John R. Wooden Tradition Basketball Invitational will take place at Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, on Saturday, December 19. Some of the nation's premier teams will face off on the court in one of the country's best basketball arenas.
