ABOUT THE STATE CONFERENCE

The annual Special Olympics Indiana State Conference targets Program leaders, volunteers, coaches and families. The State Conference exists to provide valuable training in Special Olympics sports and Program management. It's a time when volunteers from around the state have the opportunity to network, learn—and just have fun!

The State Conference also features the annual Recognition Dinner, held on the Friday evening of the conference weekend.  At the dinner, Spirit of Special Olympics Awards and President's Awards are presented to state award winners.  The annual Spirit of Special Olympics Awards program honors the most outstanding athlete, family, volunteer and coach in Indiana. The President's Awards program honors individuals who have made extraordinary efforts on behalf of Special Olympics Indiana and are not otherwise eligible for recognition through the Spirit of Special Olympics Awards program.

On Saturday at noon during the conference, a Celebration Luncheon is held for all Conference attendees to recognize the work of Area and County Program Management Teams. At the luncheon, Certificates of Accreditation are presented.
