Healthy Athletes - Fit Feet

Many Special Olymics athletes suffer from foot and ankle pain or deformities that impair their performance.  Also, athletes are not always fitted with the best shoes and socks for their particular sport.  Special Olympics Healthy Athletes, in cooperation with the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, has developed the Fit Feet screening discipline to evaluate foot and ankle problems, lower extremity biomechanics and proper shoe and sock gear.

The Clinical Direcor is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

FUNfitness screenings include:

  • Screen athletes' feet for deformities;
  • Skin and Nail Problems; and
  • Check for proper shoes and socks.

At this time, the FUNfitness discipline is not offered by Special Olympics Indiana.
